Chapter History

On October 11th, Brother Marc Amorelli and Brother Robert Card drove to UMass Amherst to meet friends who were members of the Phi Rho Chi Chapter of AXP. Brother Card suggested to Brother Amorelli the possibilities of such an organization at then North Adams State College. The two brought their idea to Brother Micheal Rose. All three discussed their desires for an organization that possessed and would promote Loyalty, Fidelity, Ritual, Excellence and Fulfillment through Brotherhood.
In one year's time, numbers grew and declined, but members pushed for their beliefs. The remaining thirteen found a long hard road ahead of them. The founders surprised and pleased the community with their efforts and positive activities. The men accomplished many community and campus services and established themselves as campus leaders, extremely intelligent and strong-willed men.
In the fall of 1988, these thirteen men took in eleven others and educated them in the long line of Excellence. On November 5, 1988 twenty three men traveled to the Delta Phi Chapter to be initiated as the Phi Omega Chi Chapter. The rest is in the history books.
